Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree (1853 - 1917)

Actor-manager, Haymarket Theatre (1887-1897),. Built Her Majesty’s theatre, founded RADA (1904),, knighted (1909),. He lodged in Haverstock Hill in the 1880s and lived grandly at The Grange, Branch Hill 1890-91. One of his 3 daughters, the actress Violet Parsons, who died in 1938is buried next to him in F 002. The film director Carol Reed was his natural son.
