Charles Holford (1774 - 1838)

Leading member of family of benefactors. Lived at Holford House near Holford Road (see Camden History Review No 6),. He was active with the Hampstead Volunteers, the Public Library, Heath protests and a Guardian of the Poor. He left £100 to the poor of the parish. His friendship with Constable prompted the artist to give his famous lectures on landscape painting at the Assembly Rooms in Holly Bush Hill.
